The Watersport Center at Kanuhura
The
Watersport Center is a member of VDWS (German Windsurfing
Association) and is run by a German windsurf and catamaran
teacher.
Once a year we organize a catamaran sailing event with
former world champion, Bernd Breymann. This provides an
opportunity to sail with a world champion and maybe even
pick up some sailing tips!
The lagoon in front of the island is approximately 5km
long and 500m wide and almost completely free of corals.
It is a fantastic place for all kinds of watersports activities.
Through the different depths in the lagoon (0,5 m –
15 m) the reflected colours of the water are very beautiful.
During the summer monsoon, with north-westerly winds, (November
until April) the lagoon is protected by the outer reef.
This makes the sea very flat and calm. Outside the lagoon
big schools of dolphins are very often sighted. Quite often
stingrays can be seen while sailing in the lagoon.

As well as courses, we offer catamaran excursions to deserted
islands where you can swim and snorkel. For those who prefer
a faster pace we offer similar excursions by speedboat
